» Walt Disnay Animation Studios

I’ve almost forgotten that my favorite animated classic comes from Disney…this is obviously to the awesome movies Pixar’s put out there. But, if you still remember Disney, remember they’ve got a site as well.

» Animation Backgrounds

A great blog focusing on one of the aspects of animation that isn’t usually in the spotlight: the backgrounds. Animation backgrounds is really and interesting site, so be sure you don’t miss it.

» The Storyboards of WALL-E

Derek Thompson joined Pixar in January 2005 to work as a Story Artist on WALL-E. Here, Thompson explains the process of the Story department and presents a look at some of WALL-E’s storyboards.

This one is actually already old news, but I recently discovered it via Drawn.

Codehunters is a sci-fi/western anime hybrid short developed by UK’s Blinkink for MTV Asia. The style and the animation are really gorgeous, you almost don’t realize it’s all CG.

I’m still downloading the whole thing, and you can do the same by clicking here, but if you can’t wait for all the 147MB to download, go watch it online at the official site. Actually, this was done in 2006, so it’s probably that all of you already knew about this sweet short, and I’m the last person on Earth to discover this gem. Oh well!

Armand Serrano

A he puts it himself: “Armand Serrano is a Feature Animation Visual Development Artist and Layout Journeyman”. To prove it, just go to his gallery and check out his work. As you’ll see, he’s done work for some known Disney movies, and he’s currently working on Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs slated for 2009 (Sony Pictures Animation).

Arthur de Pins Online

Here’s Arthur de Pins, french illustrator and animator, owner of a cool, fun and cartoony style. Mostly focused in the illustration of characters (that somehow remind me those old 70’s illustrations), though he varies his style quite a bit.

So, there’s nothing for me to say, except visit his site now, you won’t regret it.

By the way: Geraldine is great! :)

Colin Stimpson

Amazing british artist, Colin Stimpson has been involved in quite a bunch of interesting projects in the animation industry, like Disney’s Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the Emperor’s New Groove (as Art Director). Another personal favorite is An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, where he took part as background artist.

He, of course, has his own site showcasing some of his illustration and animation work, so, you better go check it out at colinstimpson.com
