how to draw female comic characters

So, click here, and you’ll see some scans where you learn a bit about how to draw female comic characters. Don’t take it too serious, but at least it might work as reference.

Daniel Araujo’s drawings

Another day, another deviant that is featured here. This time it’s Daniel Araujo, aka, justflyakite. You can see his drawings are purely anime, and has some cute little characters that reminded me of Pokemon (and I don’t like Pokemon). Nevertheless, he manages to be quite original, and his drawings are cute and funny.

I specially liked these two sketches: one and two

Fulp fiction

Visit The work of Harry Johnson. You’ll be impressed with his style. Infact, I already blogged about this back in december, but I thought it should be hilighted again.

The lost books of Eve

Ha, looks like I’m advertising Josh Howard’s comics, but I’m not. I’m just loving his style, I thought you might be interested in knowing about his projects. So, this is his latest project, the lost books of Eve

Journey back to a time when magic still thrived, dragons and fallen gods roamed the earth, and man was just a myth. The Garden of Eden was a place of perfect peace and tranquility. That is, until its keeper, Adam, went missing. Now, his newly created wife, Eve, must venture outside the safety of the Garden for the first time to go in search of her husband, all the while battling monsters, beast men, wizards, demons, and even the gods themselves. It’s the fun and adventure of Samurai Jack mixed with the epic scope of Lord of the Rings.

Dead@17

The ultimate battle between Good and Evil is about to be fought in the most unlikely of places, and the outcome will depend on the choices of one teenage girl. In the small suburb of Darlington Hills, two friends, Nara Kilday and Hazy Foss, are about to be caught in the middle of a conflict that will change their lives forever. Dead @ 17 is a four issue mini-series about friendship, love, loss, destiny, and betrayal, and the choices one must make in the face of ultimate adversity.

Another post about Josh Howard’s stuff. Looks great, isn’t it. I know, it’s not actually new, but still, I just found out about it. More info at viper comics

Harry Johnson

Fulpfiction presents Harry Johnson, a spoof of the old action movies of the 1930’s and 40’s. I’m too lazy to actually read what’s it about. The plot actually isn’t interesting to me, but the style of the comic is pretty nice. First of all, pretty dynamic, and well, there are some sexy characters there, thanks to the amazing artwork of Dean Yeagle, Craig Rousseau and Norman Lee.

When you get tired of looking at the site, that has descriptions of plot and characters, a few photos and drawings, sketches, more info and links, then go buy the comics

Gregory Titus, he’s all about comics

Gregory Titus has worked for marvel, dc,dark horse, image, hasbro ,mattel, burton snowboards, sobe juice, walden media, lucasfilm etc. That is quite a bunch of brands.

His website is a bit incomplete. But doesn’t matter, as the section that drags most of the attention is up, and has a lot of content there: his gallery or illustrations, which I’m sure you’ll like if you’re into comics.

Also, check out the interview he did for comixfan.

Pyromaniac @ deviantart

Pyromaniac is a 19 year old artist from Chile. Yep, he’s young, and quite talented. His style is influenced by japanese anime, a lot, though he’s developed quite an original style.

You can check his illustrations at his deviantart gallery, most of them done in black and white. Worth paying a visit.

Figments

Figments is a collection of illustrations of imaginary monsters from the mind of Otis Framptom. Cute weird creatures.

If you’re up to a more comic style set of illustrations, you can see his gallery by clicking here.
