This really cool illustration was done by manicho. Besides the fact that it is a really cool one, the author provides the Photoshop file for you to download and see how it was created. That’s a really neat goodie in my opinion.

Go check out the portfolio site of Joan Charmant, dedicated to the art of image manipulation. Most of his impressive artwork was created for several contest at Worth1000.
a collection of Photoshop layer styles created by Jayhan, who’s been nice enought to share it with anyone that wants them. If you’re a designer, these styles are probably going to be very useful for you.
Great Photoshop work: The landscape in this particular shot doesn’t actually exist. It was generated by cloning rather small portions of several poor shots the artist snapped whilst in Nortumberland. The concrete structure was then created from scratch using various concrete textures the artist grabbed from within a building site. It is then a case of splicing the two together using PhotoShop.
Deviantart is a site of contrasts. You find a lot of crap there, but there’s also a lot of very inspiring artwork, and a lot of talented artists. There’s also a lot of useful resources.

The photoshop experiment is a blog maintained by Cory Godbey, a 23 year old illustrator. What is it about? well, as you know, it’s a blog, and it has a few posts explaining his workflow in photoshop to create his illustrations. I say it’s pretty cool, if you ask me.
I suggest you also visit his main blog, light night rains, where you’ll find more examples of his work.
Steve Hamaker, who is coloring the new Bone color editions (link), has posted a couple of entries in his blog about how to color comics in photoshop.
His first entry, coloring with photoshop is a set of images showing the different steps from lineart to finished colored piece. He offers no explanations about each step, but it’s a nice start to see what he does to color the comics.
His second entry, more coloring stuff, though short, gives a few details of what he does to prepare the coloring in photoshop.
The comments of both entries offer some nice tips, too. I suggest you read them.
